Vehicle Parking:

In order to preserve the neighbors fence and your own peace of mind, we suggest that you reverse out to the street.  You will find that it is much easier than trying to turn around in front of the house.

Telephone:

Unit A:  808-338-0428

Unit B:  808-338-1670

Long distance capabilities have been disabled.  However, you are still able to access 800 numbers and place credit card calls.

Air Conditioning:

Help us keep our costs down through the wise use of the air conditioning.

We suggest that you close all of the windows if you leave the house for more than 2 to 3 hours.

If you return to a warm house, open the front and back doors and turn on the attic fan located in the hallway.  This fan will pull cooler outside air into the living quarters while exhausting hot air from the attic space.  After 15 minutes, turn off the attic fan, close the doors and start the air conditioner.

The air conditioning unit is large enough to cool a space more than twice as large as the apartment, but you can assist by closing doors to the bedrooms until they are to be used.  The air conditioner is capable of cooling the living area in approximately 15 minutes.

We chose to provide air conditioning to keep the house cool, quiet and to reduce the amount of red dust that collects inside.  Please use it wisely as electricity costs are approximately 4 times higher here than on the mainland United States.

Computers:

There are three wirless access points provided on the property, one in each unit and one outside.  They are called:  WestKauaiHouse-A, WestKauaiHouse-B and WestKauaiHouse-C.

If your computer does not have wireless capabilities or if you’d rather make a direct cable connection, please feel free to unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the D-Link access point and plug that line into your computer.  Extra Ethernet cable and couplers are located within the business center supplies.

A compact disc containing the drivers for the Samsung Laser Printer/Scanner/Copier is located within the business center supplies.  You may also find the necessary components at the following location:

Entertainment Center:

Television channel 12 contains a list of all channels and what is currently playing.  You can go to the following website to see a more thorough listing:

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/system.asp?partner_id=national&zipcode=96796

Television channel 3 contains information regarding various tourist activities on the island.

The television is not only capable of playing DVD movies, but also music compact discs and mp3 compact discs.

The clock radio located below the television can be connected to your portable music device.  Plug your device into the audio cable located on the side of the clock radio.  Set the switch on the right rear of the unit to Aux and then switch the radio on.  You will now be able to play your music through this device.
